forward Ryan Coiner (Aliso Viejo, CA), a four-year member
of the USD men's soccer team, was recently named to the 2002 NSCAA/adidas
Division I All-America 2nd Team. Coiner, who led the 25th-ranked
(College Soccer News)Toreros to a final record of 14-6 and their
fifth straight trip to the NCAA's, led the team in scoring with
14 goals and 9 assists. The 2002 West Coast Conference Player
of the Year also was named a 3rd Team All-American by College
Soccer News, and a First Team All-Far West pick (3rd straight
year). Coiner leaves USD as the program's second all-time leading
goal scorer with 49 goals, second only to Guillermo Jara (51 goals,
150 points). During his sophomore campaign in 2000, Coiner was
also a 2nd Team All-American and co-WCC Player of the Year.
